Coke Testing

Beside the standardization of test procedures for the characterization of ferrous burden, the testing of the quality of blast furnace coke became more and more important within recent years. As one of the main quality criteria, the reactivity (CRI) of coke and the strength of the coke after reaction (CSR) are tested. SGA operates two units for this test procedure and has on hand reference results of numerous coke grades.

Further on, physical properties as screen analysis and mechanical strength (according to Irsid and Micum standards) are tested for blast furnace coke.
